The conflict between the United States, Israel, and Iran continues to intensify, as new military deployments, economic disruptions, and political statements raise concerns about a broader regional war. Officials and analysts warn the situation is entering a more volatile phase, with both military escalation and diplomatic efforts unfolding simultaneously.
Trump Raises Possibility of Seizing Iran’s Oil Infrastructure

In an interview with the Financial Times, U.S. President Donald Trump said the United States is considering a range of military options, including the possible seizure of Kharg Island, Iran’s primary oil export terminal in the Persian Gulf.
“Maybe we take Kharg Island, maybe we don’t. We have a lot of options,” Trump said, adding that any operation would likely require a sustained U.S. presence. He also stated that his “preference would be to take the oil in Iran,” while acknowledging ongoing negotiations with Tehran.
Diplomacy and Military Planning Occur Simultaneously

Despite escalating military activity, diplomatic channels remain open. Pakistan has announced plans to host talks between U.S. and Iranian representatives in the coming days, although it remains unclear whether the discussions will be direct or mediated.
At the same time, Iran’s parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf dismissed the proposed talks, suggesting they serve as cover for a potential U.S. ground invasion. According to Iranian state media, he warned that Iranian forces are prepared to respond if American troops enter the country.
Troop Deployments and Ground Operation Concerns
Approximately 2,500 U.S. Marines have recently arrived in the region, fueling speculation that Washington is preparing for possible ground operations. Iranian officials have pointed to the buildup as evidence of an imminent escalation, while U.S. officials have framed the deployments as precautionary.
Reports indicate that U.S. military planners are evaluating operations that could include securing strategic assets, including nuclear material and energy infrastructure, though no final decisions have been publicly confirmed.
Casualties and Regional Expansion

The human toll of the conflict continues to rise. Reports indicate more than 1,900 deaths in Iran and over 1,200 in Lebanon, along with casualties in Israel and among U.S. personnel. Millions have been displaced across the region as fighting spreads.
The conflict has also expanded geographically. Yemen’s Houthi forces have entered the war, launching drones and missiles toward regional targets, while Gulf states report intercepting aerial threats. Israel has continued strikes in Tehran and southern Lebanon, targeting what it describes as military infrastructure.
